Baby Jogger City Select Review

The Baby Jogger City Select is a quality and popular stroller is consistently rated highly across parenting sites. This is well deserved thanks to the versatility and amazing features of this stroller.

The Baby Jogger City Select has 16 riding options so you can have your children facing out to explore the world or towards you so you can watch them sleep peacefully. As each seat can hold up to 45 pounds, and there is the option for 2 car seats, this is a stroller that will grow with you as your family grows. Even twins are not a challenge for this stroller, and it can go back to a single as they start growing up. Pros

This stroller is a great all around stroller in that it is compact and can handle twins of any age. I like that you can have your child facing out, towards you or better yet, towards each other so they can babble back and forth while you go for your morning walk. The other thing I like about it is that you can purchase bassinets for this stroller so you can take your little one(s) for a stroll around the block when they just will not sleep and you do not have to remove a bunch of straps once you get home.

The Baby Jogger City Select is also very stylish looking and will turn heads wherever you go. The basket is also a decent size and will hold diaper bags, bottles, purses and more with no difficulty. The second seat installs and is taken out quickly and easily which is always nice since you do not want to sit there arguing with a second seat when your toddler has decided they have had enough walking.

Cons

One thing I didn’t particularly like about this stroller is that it has the hard plastic front wheels. The back wheels are great in that they are large and air-filled yet that almost makes the front ones that much worse. After pushing my old double stroller with its plastic wheels on a gravel trail once with my youngest, I decided I am never doing that again and ended up retiring that stroller for urban use only. This stroller is also not intended for jogging as it has swivel front wheels which, depending on your lifestyle, may not be a deciding factor.

Summary – 4.5/5

This stroller is ideal for families with 1-2 small children, particularly twins, who like to walk in an urban setting or stay on firm ground. The fact it folds quickly and easily is a huge selling feature because when you are putting your kids in the car, the last thing you want is to have to argue with your stroller to get it put away. This is all around a great stroller for any family to grow with, it is easy to see how it was selected as Baby Gizmo’s 2010 Top Tandem Stroller.
