Baby Jogger City Mini Double Stroller Review

Baby Jogger’s popular City Mini includes two double strollers – the City Mini double stroller and the City Mini GT double stroller. The more affordable of these strollers is the City Mini double.

As the stroller is produced by Baby Jogger it goes without saying that you can expect quality. The stroller shares its main features with the single City Mini.

Both of the stroller’s seats fully recline so that the stroller is suitable from birth. Each seat has its own large canopy and has two windows which City Mini double reviews love, as it offers plenty of visibility.

Baby Jogger City Mini Double reviews are generally very positive. The stroller’s wheels can be locked into place for walking steady and on rougher ground, and a car seat can be attached to use the stroller as a travel system.

So what are the key areas where this stroller differs from the GT and what are the best and worst features? Read more below.

Pros

The stroller has all the same pros as the single City Mini in a double design. The best part is that the seats operate the same as the single stroller. They can be reclined separately and each has its own canopy. This means that children of different ages can be seated in comfort.

The 5 point harnesses each have a comfort pocket over them so that they are both comfortable and difficult for children to unlock by themselves. The stroller can be used from birth when reclined and includes a mesh screen which allows air to pass through the rear. You can close this however and this is done by clipping the back of the seat.

Another thing that City Mini double stroller reviews mentioned is the wheels. There are four wheels and the front swivel wheels can be locked into place. They can also be removed for storage making the stroller even more compact when folded – a definite plus in bulky double strollers.

There is also a great range of accessories you can add to all Baby Jogger strollers. This stroller can be used as a travel system with the car seat adapter and you can fit a parent and kids tray.

Cons

It is unfortunate that the stroller does not include a parents and kids tray as standard, and many stroller brands are now offering this.

The stroller is great and although I don’t like to compare strollers too much, it is sometimes important to do so. Compared to the GT this strollers wheels do not perform as well and the handlebar is not adjustable. Most Baby Jogger double stroller reviews said the handlebar was the right height for them but there is always the risk that it will not be.

These are the main differences between the GT double are are not something to be too concerned about.

Summary – 4.0/5

Baby Jogger strollers are always going to be a favorite of mine. I love that this stroller offers the conveniences offered by the single stroller in a double design. It really isn’t too difficult to push and locking the wheels in place does give added stability over more difficult ground.

The stroller is expensive though and an investment to make. It is also unfortunate that as it is more expensive it does not include a few extras and instead requires you to purchase them separately.

If you were to use the stroller from birth right up to the weight limit then this would be a great option, but follow other City Jogger stroller reviews and purchase a parents and kids tray!
